Welsh soprano Catrin Woodruff trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, and has recently been awarded a scholarship to study at The Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Catrin is a busy freelance artist, regularly performing in operas and concerts in the UK and abroad. Recent highlights include a programme of Bach and Handel cantatas at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Dido & Belinda (Second Witch) with Helios Collective, Il Matrimonio Segreto (Carolina) and L'Italiana in Algeri (Elvira) with Pop-up Opera, Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice) with Northern Opera Group, Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna) at Berwick Opera Festival, Madama Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton/chorus) with Bergen Nasjonale Opera, and Dido and Aeneas (Dido) with the Brighton Early Music Festival. She also sings regularly with Norwegian ensemble Edvard Grieg Kor, with whom she has performed and recorded several choral works. On the competition circuit, Catrin was a finalist in the prestigious Llangollen Musical Eisteddfod International Voice of the Future 2017 competition.
