Catrin Woodruff is a Welsh soprano now based in Sussex. She trained at the University of York and the Royal Northern College of Music, and now continues her studies with Louise Winter.
Catrin is a busy freelance artist, regularly performing in operas and concerts in the UK and abroad. Recent highlights include a touring production of Rossini's L'Italiana in Algeri (Elvira) with Pop-up Opera, Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna) at Berwick Opera Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, Madama Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton and chorus) and Don Giovanni (chorus) with Bergen Nasjonale Opera, and the title role in Dido and Aeneas with the Brighton Early Music Festival Community Chorus. Future engagements include Trial By Jury (Angelina) with New Sussex Opera and Dido and Aeneas (Witch) with the Helios Ensemble. Catrin is delighted to be joining The Northern Opera Group as Beatrice in their exploration of Stanford’s little-known operatic work, Much Ado About Nothing.
In her spare time, Catrin is a voracious reader, crafter, foodie and wanderer upon the South Downs. She is also partial to whisky and the National Trust.
