Chris Pelly is a conductor, pianist, trumpeter and singer working in the West Yorkshire area. He is twice a graduate of the University of Leeds, having completed a BA in music as a trumpeter in 2012, and a Post Graduate Diploma in performance as a singer in 2013. While he was a student Chris discovered his love of Opera through the University’s opera society (LUU Operaoc), whom he conducted in three fully staged opera productions: Cendrillon (2013), Don Giovanni (2012) and La Belle Helene (2011) as well as taking lead roles in several productions and being president of the society in his final year.
Chris is the musical director of the Leeds Haydn Players, Otley Chamber Orchestra and Mirfield Choral Society, and regularly conducts the West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. He is also the administrator of the University of Leeds International Concert Series.
Since starting University in 2009 he has been a member of the Clothworkers Consort of Leeds (formerly Leeds University Liturgical Choir) with whom he has sung in many venues and cathedrals around England.
