Eugene Dillon-Hooper is a graduate and current Masters student of the RNCM, studying Voice under Matthew Best, and the 2016/17 Draper’s de Turckheim Scholar. He is also kindly supported by the Countess of Munster Musical trust and the Edith Murphy Foundation.
Recently he has performed the operatic roles of Capellio in Pop-Up Opera’s I Capuleti e I Montecchi (Bellini), Theseus in the RNCM’s production of Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sarastro in Leeds Youth Opera’s The Magic Flute (Mozart), and in the chorus for Garsington’s L’Italina in Algeri (Rossini). Upcoming performances in May, June and July 2017 include; Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, with Fleetwood Choral Society, Christus in the RNCM’s production of Bach’s St. John Passion and Bartolo in Clonter Opera’s Le Nozze di Figaro. Eugene also lends himself as a Bass II choral scholar, with recent performances in Bergen and Trondheim, Norway with the Edvard Grieg Kor, and with the Bulava Chorus in Paris’ Notre-Dame, and in Kyiv, Ukraine, as well as various other venues across the UK and Europe.
