Music by Charles Villiers Stanford

Libretto by Julian Sturgis (after the play by Shakespeare)

Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy as brought to life by Charles Villiers Stanford.

In a tale of two sets of lovers, Hero and Claudio must overcome the devious and jealous Don John, whilst for Beatrice and Benedick, it's not exactly a case of 'love at first sight' ...

Join us for a rare full performance of Stanford’s comic gem, transported to 1950s small town America, where the makings of a cultural revolution are just getting started …
