On 13 and 14 May 2017, we’ll be touring Holst’s riotous comedy, ‘The Wandering Scholar’, to audiences in North and West Yorkshire.
Inspired by a traditional Mummers’ Play, we’ll be hotfooting it between venues, offering performances for free and only using set and props that we can carry around on our journey with us!
A wayward wife and the local priest look to take advantage of her husband’s absence - but they don’t bargain on a poor (and mischievous) ‘wandering scholar’ interrupting their plans …
Performed by a leading professional cast and sung in English, don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of the greatest comedic operas performed in some of the region’s finest venues.
Performances last 30 minutes and are free and unticketed. Seating is limited in each venue, however seating will be available for those who require it.
Performed by permission of Faber Music.
