Andrew Tipple


Andrew Tipple’s operatic engagements have included Antonio Le nozze di Figaro, Zaretsky Eugene Onegin and Russian Father Death in Venice at Garsington Opera, Talpa Il tabarro at Wexford Festival Opera, Simone Gianni Schicchi with Opera Bohemia, Bartolo Le nozze di Figaro at the Kilden Theatre in Norway and Capellio I Capuleti e i Montecchi with Pop-up Opera.


While a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) Andrew Tipple’s roles included Falstaff Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Seneca L'incoronazione di Poppea, Snug the Joiner A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sarastro Die Zauberflöte and Mendoza in Prokofiev's Betrothal in a Monastery, performed at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.


Andrew Tipple has sung with the Bayreuth Festival, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Independent Opera. He performed the role of The Singer in the Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Henry IV parts I and II at the Barbican Centre, and in the 2015 Turner Prize finalist entry Doug by Janice Kerbel.


Forthcoming engagements include Antonio Le nozze di Figaro at Nevill Holt Opera.


Andrew Tipple is an accomplished oratorio soloist. He has performed a wide range of choral works including Bach Cantatas at King’s Place in London, Bach St John Passion at Arundel Cathedra and Arvo Part Passio at Christchurch Cathedral Oxford.


Andrew Tipple studied at the Royal Academy of Music and later the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) where he was a member of the Alexander Gibson Opera School. At the RCS he was the recipient of the Associate of the Board of the Royal Schools of Music Scholarship. He previously received an MA in History from Cambridge University where he was both an academic and choral scholar.
